Bruce Molsky and the Guitar
I have the great honor of releasing Bruce Molsky’s latest CD on the greatest traditional music label in the universe: Tiki Parlour Recordings. And yes, I’m a tiny bit biased. After all, this label is one of my greatest passions along with teaching and playing old-time music. This is also Tiki Parlour’s 25th release in just a hair over six years of existence, which is another monumental reason to celebrate. The stars have miraculously aligned allowing this masterful traditional old-time fiddler and banjoist to release his very first solo guitar album at such a pivotal moment in our label’s history. The album represents Bruce’s deep love and reverence for music from many lands including Africa, South America, Sweden, United States and more. Artists like John Paul Jones, Sarah Jarosz, Bill Frisell, Julian Lage and Chris Eldridge have lovely things to say about it, so I know you’ll be as smitten by it as we are.
In this grand celebration of Bruce Molsky’s first guitar album, I’ve decided to let sound and pictures tantalize your senses. When I recorded Bruce for his CD & DVD Set “Can’t Stay Here This a-Way” a few years back, I filmed his beautiful rendition of the Swedish composition Kom Hem (Come Home) which is featured on this new CD. Enjoy the video along with a few more recent videos featuring Bruce’s deep and mesmerizing guitar picking.
Everywhere You Go is available now at Tiki Parlour Recordings and is currently on sale with most of the Tiki Parlour catalog. Cheers!
