San Pedro’s own Nomad Eel Records showcases a line-up of LA-based bands.
Nomad Eel Records was born from the love of music and art. We are not bound to any one genre and have a more eclectic range of tastes. As much as life is a journey, so is music and art. Come celebrate music and life with us! As our motto states…where the music takes you!
Zig Zags
Eight years, seven singles, three albums, three bass players, two drummers and God knows how many shows later – Zig Zags has continually evolved, mutated, transitioned, and transformed, rising again and again, like a phoenix emerging from the flame.
Imaad Wastif
Part primitive-goth-folk musician, part psychedelic fuzz face-melter, playing self-described, “Music for Unification.” He has released seven solo albums and plays bass/keys in Yeah Yeah Yeahs. He was in lowercase, alaska!, Lou Barlow’s Folk Implosion, Electric Flower Group, Grim Tower, and the sci-fi concept band ACID.
Dream Phases
Emerging from LA’s neo-psychedelic rock scene in 2017, reflecting California’s natural splendor and adventuresome spirit. The earthy sounds of the Byrds, the Beach Boys, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – and latter-day artists Rain Parade, Elliott Smith, and Autolux – come through in their music.
The Blank Tapes
Alternating between dreamy and driving, dappled with delirious solos and seductive harmonies. The Blank Tapes radiates Ultraviolet Californian chords.
Livingmore
A band from LA created by songwriters Alex Moore and Spencer Livingston. Their captivating sound and energetic performances have garnered a loyal following. With their distinctive blend of indie pop, rock influences, and a hint of nostalgia, Livingmore is an act to watch as they carve their own path.
Gregg Garvey
A singer/songwriter who grew up in Minnesota; exploring, crafting, and honing his musical direction and voice. Now in LA, Gregg has taken a deep dive into his particular brand of dreamy, meditative pop and vintage rock soul. His work brings together influences such as Scott Walker, David Sylvian, Gene Clark, and Nick Drake.
Young Creatures
An LA-based indie band. Playing shows all across America from 2013-2020, they are back for the Nomad Eel Records Fest in 2024. Their most recent full-length album DOOM was released through Nomad Eel Records.
RJ Bloke
RJ Bloke is the singer/songwriter and rhythm guitarist for Patrolled By Radar, a roots rock n’ roll, alt-country quartet based in LA. Featuring tight, melodic, poetry-laden, hook-heavy originals and inventive covers. Drawing comparisons to such luminaries as The Band era Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones & The Kinks c. 1969-72, Gram Parsons and early Wilco.
Supergloom
A five-piece band, based in LA. Offering a unique fusion of intricate songwriting and pop charm. With a wealth of musical experience, they’ve crafted tracks combining memorable hooks and musical sophistication, drawing inspiration from Deerhunter, My Bloody Valentine, Smashing Pumpkins, and Queens of the Stone Age.
