Maine Fiddle Camp June 2025
A multi-generational, overnight, traditional music camp in the Maine Woods!
Hi folks,
This will be a short Blog with a longer follow-up next month. I just got back from a couple weeks at Maine Fiddle Camp and still trying to catch up. Maine Fiddle Camp is a multi-generational, outdoor, overnight, traditional music camp with instruction for 14 different trad instruments plus singing. Instruction is offered for all levels. here’s the link. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it I guess), Camp is full for this August, but there is a waiting list. I figured I’d give a few highlights of June 2025.

Center of camp: Dining hall, Dining tent, Main Tent

Every evening there is singing around the campfire.
Individual classes at MFC all have bird names. Here’s the “Herons Nest”:

Herons led by Alden Robinson
At Fiddle Camp each evening we have a “dinner concert,” known as “Maestro Bistro,” where staff members do a 15 minute set in the main tent. We set up tables and folks bring their dinner from the dining hall for 3 or four staff performances. Here’s a video of Lissa Schneckenburger, accompanied by Bethany Waickman, playing a tune Lissa composed.
Enjoy the video, see y’all next month. – bill
