Kathy Kallick Band
November 16 @ 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM PST
The Kathy Kallick Band, who play some of the world’s best bluegrass music, will perform in Pasadena on Saturday evening, Aug. 3, at Knox Presbyterian Church, 225 S. Hill Ave.
This mighty band combines the distinctive voice, guitar and songwriting skills of Grammy-winner Kathy Kallick with four other outstanding musicians: Annie Staninec on fiddle, Greg Booth on dobro and banjo, Tom Bekeny on mandolin, and Cary Black on acoustic bass. Lend an ear to This Old Lonesome Song. Kallick wrote it and put it on her band’s latest album, The Lonesome Chronicles, which combines themed originals and some classics to mine a deep vein of bluegrass tradition. Roscoe Got the Rabbit, a track showcasing Staninec and Booth on a Dennis Fechet tune, has a non-traditional twist, however, in the identity of the rabbit, which they’re apt to tell at the show.
The concert will begin at 7:30pm at Knox Presbyterian Church, 225 S. Hill Ave., Pasadena just a few blocks north of Caltech, across Hill Avenue from Pasadena City College (PCC). Knox Presbyterian Church has a parking lot and nearby street parking.
